About John Alec Stouras

John Alec Stouras is a Santa Clara Law student who blogs about privacy issues. Through his blog, he keeps a thumb on the prevalent privacy issues in the world today. John Alec Stouras graduated from California State University, Long Beach in Film. Once finding his passion in the privacy field, he has made a full effort to surround himself in the privacy realm. Though opinionated, the posts attempt to take a wider look at privacy issues and potential areas of conflict in our world that is in the digital revolution. John Alec Stouras also is a Tech Edge J.D. student, and the Privacy Law Student Organization Co-Vice President. In his past time, he enjoys watching the Giants, and Raiders, going to the gym, regularly donating blood, as well as other communal activities.

Originally the son of a Greek immigrant refugee father, and a Puerto Rican mother, he grew up being fascinated with both the worlds of science, and of the arts. John Alec constantly participated in sports, drama, and clubs that focused on world issues such as Model UN and Mock Trial. When the world of media grabbed him, he decided to pursue a degree in Film and Electronic Arts with an emphasis on critical practice and production management. Through his classwork, he learned a lot about the world of data privacy, and how it can be used. While taking on leadership roles at CSULB, he also learned a lot about himself as a leader, especially through the Student Body and Zeta Beta Tau. Taking these two passions, he decided to pursue a JD degree at SC Law, and successfully applied to the Tech Edge JD program. Now he lives in Santa Clara, doing his regular course work, as well as other activities, and blogging!
